The Message Boards are a public forum and, while we encourage a free flow of information and ideas on the boards, we also ask that you follow a few basic rules. By using or participating on the Message Boards, you agree to the Rules of Conduct as stated on each of the boards. Use of the Message Boards is a privilege, not a right, that may be revoked at any time without notice at the sole discretion of EMICMG. These message board rules are regularly updated so be sure to read them often. Should you have questions, suggestions or other comments regarding the Message Boards, the appropriate individual to contact is the board administrator by emailing mick@sparrowrecords.com. Please include the username you use on the Message Boards and a direct link to a thread if it is the reason you are contacting the administrators. Frequently asked questions can be found here. Message Board Rules of ConductPrivate MessagingPrivate messaging is one of the features of these boards, but like regular posts is subject to being monitored. If a private message contains offensive content then the offending member may be banned.Copyrighted MaterialMessage Board users agree not to post any material, especially audio, that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right without the express permission of the owner(s) of said copyright, trademark or other proprietary right.Flaming, Bashing, and TrollingHate posts and personal attacks will not be tolerated on the Message Board. Treat others on these message boards as you would expect them to treat you. Talking rudely about another user is a quick way to be banned, as is posting specifically to provoke a negative response from someone (aka trolling).ProfanityAbsolutely no profanity allowed. A simple rule to follow is: "when in doubt, leave it out." Profanity will almost always result in a ban without notice.SpamPurposely spamming a message board with senseless or empty messages is inappropriate. This includes posting the same question across several boards.PiracyLinking or giving information about any site that distributes illegal software, seeking help to circumvent any copyright laws, admitting to possessing and/or distributing illegal copyrighted material, or encouraging software or media piracy is grounds for an immediate ban. This goes for all copyrighted material, including but not limited to games, movies, music, and videos.Impersonating Other UsersYou may not impersonate another board member or create an account specifically for the purpose of provoking other users. Also, accessing or using someone else's account or attempting to access another poster's account is strictly prohibited. Impersonating an artist from any label will result in a ban without notice.SpoilersBe considerate of the other users who may not have seen a movie, played a game, etc that you're talking about. Type something eye-catching like **SPOILER** in the subject of a post to warn other members.Questionable ContentThese are public boards, so act like you would if you were in a public place. These issues are left to the discretion of the individual moderators. Feel free to ask in advance if you are unsure if your post would be considered questionable content.Use of HTMLThe boards support the use of HTML tags, but use the tags with discretion. If your posts are causing problems on the boards, such as images that are too large or the page is stretched, then your posts may be deleted until you fix the problem.ImagesImages are resticted in size to be no larger than 500 pixels wide by 500 pixels high. Images are to be in a jpg or gif format only and the resolution cannot exceed a file size of 70k. You are free to add links in your posts to other places to show your artwork if your images do not fit the specifications above. The reason for this limitation is because members like to add many images to their posts and signatures. Keeping the file size down helps the boards to load faster for all members. To see a visual example click here.SignaturesEvery member may modify their signature to include images and other content. However images are limited to the previously stated image rules and the signature should not be too long. Acceptable lengths are to not exceed 600 pixels."Avatar" ImagesAvatar images are resticted in size to be no larger than 80 pixels wide by 80 pixels high. Images are to be in a jpg or gif format only and the resolution cannot exceed a file size of 15k. |
